Make The Impossible Happen

Recently, I was watching a speech on ted.com. It was “Martin Villeneuve: How I made an impossible film.” This video was filmed on February 2013. Martin Villeneuve is a filmmaker/screenwriter from Montreal. In this video, he describes how he did the sci-fi movie “Mars et Avril.” He didn’t have the budget to produce it, so he made use of his problem-solving skills to make the impossible happen.

He wanted to have the Canadian super start Robert Lepage as one of the lead actors of the movie. As this actor had a tight schedule at the time, Martin decided to film on green six different angles of the head with six cameras shooting at the same time. In that way, he can use it as hologram to put it in another actor’s head. Also, he needed help with the design of some instruments that doesn’t exist. He didn’t have the budget to pay for them, so he used the help of an artist who was happy to help him.

The following interesting thought was mention in this video. There will be always positive and negative people around us. We just need to choose who we are going to listen to.

If you have some crazy ideas in your mind and people tell you that it’s impossible to make, well that’s an even better reason to want to do it because people have the tendency to see the problems rather than the final result.”
-by Martin Villeneuve

Time, love, and creativity were the characteristics that made the impossible movie possible. If we want to survive in the media industry we need to start using our ideas and creativity to make our way up.  We cannot be waiting for thing to happen, we need to make them happen. If we don’t believe in our dreams, who is going to believe in them? Everything starts right here. What are you waiting for?
